Nail extensions are built onto your natural nails to add length and a chosen shape. A full set is the first application, a refill fills in the gap as your nails grow, and removal takes them off without forcing the natural nail.
There is more than one extension system, and the right one depends on your nails, your routine and the look you want. At the nail bar, the studio looks at your natural nails, asks what your hands do all day and talks through shape, length and system before anything is applied.
The price and the time needed are confirmed before the appointment begins. Sets with art, charms or several designs are quoted in writing, so there is nothing new to discover at the end.

Your natural nails, lifestyle and reference photos are discussed, and the system, shape and length agreed.
- 02Prepare
Nails are cleaned and shaped, and the cuticle area gently tidied.
- 03Build
Extensions are applied and built up to the agreed length.
- 04Shape
Each nail is filed to shape and checked for balance across both hands.
- 05Colour or finish
Colour, a natural finish or art is added.
- 06Care advice
You are told how to look after the set and when to come back.
Tell the studio first
- Previous reactions to nail products, glues or gels.
- Any nail infection, lifting or damage from an earlier set.
- What you do with your hands day to day, from typing to cooking.
- Reference photos of the shape, length and finish you like.
Aftercare, usually
- Treat the nails as jewellery, not tools; avoid prising or scraping with them.
- Dry your hands thoroughly after washing, and use cuticle oil each day.
- Contact the studio if a nail lifts, rather than gluing it at home.
- Follow the aftercare the studio gives you for the extension system used.
