Occasion hairstyling / At Bharti’s

What it is,
and how it’s done here.

Occasion hairstyling is hair set for a specific function: a bun, an updo, waves, a braid or a mix, often with flowers or jewellery worked in. The aim is a style that suits the outfit and stays tidy through the event.

It starts in the makeup chair with your outfit, accessories and references. The studio looks at your hair’s length, thickness and texture, tells you which styles will sit well on it, and says if one might need padding or a small change to the plan.

The price and time are confirmed before you agree, including whether makeup or draping is part of the visit. For a family group getting ready together, the studio can put each person’s style and price in writing.

Your appointment

Occasion hairstyling,
step by step.

  1. 01
    Plan the style

Outfit, jewellery, dupatta and references are discussed, and the style agreed.

  2. 02
    Prepare the hair

Hair is detangled, then smoothed or curled to give the style its base.

  3. 03
    Build

Sections are backcombed, twisted, braided or pinned, depending on the style.

  4. 04
    Accessorise

Flowers, pins or a maang tikka are placed and secured.

  5. 05
    Set and check

The style is set with a hold product, and you check the back with a hand mirror.

Tell the studio first

  • Your hair’s current state, including recent colour or smoothing.
  • Any scalp sensitivity to pins, sprays or tight styles.
  • Accessories you plan to wear, and photos of the outfit.
  • Whether a dupatta will sit on your head.

Aftercare, usually

  • Remove pins one by one before brushing, starting from the outside of the style.
  • Brush out gently from the ends, then wash out the styling products.
  • Let your scalp rest after a tight style rather than tying it up again straight away.
  • Follow the aftercare the studio gives you for the products used in your hair.

Before you choose

A few things,
made clear.

What if my hair is very fine or short?
Many styles can be adapted for fine or shorter hair. The studio will tell you what will work with your length and density, and whether padding or accessories would help.
Can hairstyling be done with makeup?
Yes. When both are booked, the studio plans the order so hair and makeup are finished together without rushing your departure time.
How do I keep a bun secure through dancing?
Mention dancing at the start, so the structure is planned for movement. Carrying a few spare pins helps with small adjustments later.
Can I bring a reference from a celebrity look?
Please do. The studio will tell you how that look will translate to your hair, which may mean adapting it for your length or texture.
Is this the same as bridal hairstyling?
No. Occasion hairstyling is a function look in the studio. For brides, hair is planned with the trial and the wedding timeline in the Bridal Room.
Can I know the price before deciding?
Yes. Ask for the service, expected time and price together. For work that depends on your hair, chosen nail design or occasion, ask the studio for a written quote before agreeing to the appointment.
Is my appointment confirmed when I send a request?
Your preferred day and time are a request. The appointment is confirmed only after the studio replies on WhatsApp or by phone.
