What it is,

A clean-up is basic, regular skin maintenance. Skin is cleansed, gently exfoliated, steamed and finished with a mask and moisturiser, with careful extraction only where your skin suits it.
It is confirmed at the start of the appointment in the skin room, after a few questions about your skin and what you use at home. If a clean-up is not the right choice that day, the studio will say so and suggest an alternative.
You know the price and the time it needs before it begins. If you would like it combined with threading, de-tan or waxing, the studio can confirm the total for the whole visit, in writing if you prefer.

A look at your skin in good light and a few questions about sensitivity and routine.
- 02Cleanse
A thorough cleanse lifts makeup, sunscreen and the day’s oil.
- 03Exfoliate and steam
A gentle exfoliant, then steam to soften the skin.
- 04Extraction, if suitable
Only where needed, and stopped if your skin is not comfortable.
- 05Mask and moisturise
A mask chosen for your skin type, then moisturiser to finish.
Tell the studio first
- Active acne, broken skin or a skin condition being treated by a doctor.
- Retinoids, acids or prescription creams you use, since they can make skin more reactive.
- Any reactions you have had to skin products in the past.
Aftercare, usually
- Keep your hands off your face and avoid squeezing anything afterwards.
- Go easy on scrubs and strong actives for a day or so.
- Wear sunscreen if you are going out.
- Follow the aftercare the studio gives you for the products used during the clean-up.
