Threading uses a twisted loop of cotton thread to lift hair out from the root along a clean line. It is precise, which is why it is the usual choice for brows, and it works on the upper lip, chin, sides and forehead too.
Brows begin at the mirror. The studio looks at your natural shape, asks how full or defined you like them and, if you want, maps the line before starting. Nothing comes off the arch or the tail without your say.
Each area is priced simply, and you are told the cost before it starts. If you add a clean-up, bleach or waxing in the same visit, the studio confirms the total for everything together.

- 01Look and agree
Your brows or facial areas are checked in the mirror and the shape or finish agreed.
- 02Prepare the skin
The area is cleaned, and a little powder may be used so the thread grips cleanly.
- 03Thread
Hair is removed in small rows while you hold the skin taut where asked.
- 04Check the balance
You look again in the mirror and ask for any small changes.
- 05Soothe
A soothing lotion or gel calms the skin.
Tell the studio first
- Recent peels, retinoid creams or prescription products on the face.
- Spots, cuts or irritation on the area to be threaded.
- A photo of brows you like, if you want a change of shape.
Aftercare, usually
- Avoid touching the area or putting makeup over it straight away.
- Skip heavy creams, scrubs and strong sun on the area for a day or so.
- A cool compress helps if the skin feels warm.
- Follow the aftercare the studio gives you for the soothing products used.
